Who should attend Michael Vaughan Cricket?
Any child that wants to experience a fun week of cricket coaching - we welcome children of all abilities to Michael Vaughan Cricket.

My son or daughter does not play for a cricket team, can they come on the course?
Certainly! Our emphasis is on enjoyment. If your child has never played cricket before, Michael Vaughan Cricket level 1 is perfect. Focusing on learning new skills, ability level really doesn’t matter; it could even be their first cricket experience!
Michael Vaughan Cricket level 2 is designed for those who have played cricket either in school or at a recreational level and are interested in improving their skills! The programme has a greater emphasis on developing cricket technique but you don’t have to play cricket for a club or even be the next Michael Vaughan to join the course!

Will there be any hardball cricket?
Micheal Vaughan Cricket is not a hardball programme. However, hardballs will be incorporated into some catching, fielding and bowling sessions within the Michael Vaughan Cricket level 2 programme.

What will the children need to bring to Michael Vaughan Cricket?
Children will be outside as much as possible therefore it is vital that they bring warm clothing and a waterproof. The children will need to bring plenty of fluids and if the weather is hot, sun cream. Children can also bring a small snack to eat during the break.

What won’t they need to bring?
Children won’t need to bring cricket padding or equipment. We also advise that money or valuable items are not brought on to camp.

What happens at the start and the end of the day?
The children will register with their Michael Vaughan Cricket Head coach every morning or afternoon before starting their warm-up. At the end of the day parents are required to sign their children out before they can be dismissed.

Will the children have a break?
The children will have a 15 minute break where they can drink, or eat any snacks they have brought. Children will be able to grab a drink at any point during the sessions if needed.

Are the Michael Vaughan Cricket coaches qualified and police checked?
Our Michael Vaughan Cricket head coaches hold an ECB Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent. All Michael Vaughan Cricket coaches are experienced in cricket coaching and hold coaching qualifications. All members of staff are police checked by the Criminal Records Bureau.

What happens in bad weather?
We will try and stay outside as much as possible but if the weather is poor our venues also have great indoor facilities to enable the programme to continue.

Can parents come and watch?
Parents are more than welcome anytime! ‘Super skills matches’ will be held in the last hour everyday, so why not come and see your child in action? Alternatively come and watch our Cricket Festival on Friday, its fun packed with competitions, challenges and games followed by our end of week presentation.

Can children attend Michael Vaughan Cricket more than one week?
Yes of course! In one week the children will develop their skills, make new friends and have a great time, so why end it there? Additional weeks enable children to build on their previous development further increasing their confidence. Both beginner aand intermediate levels encompass an extensive range of innovative games so there’s no chance of playing anything twice!

What are the staff to children ratio’s?
Children under 8 will be coached at a ratio of 1:8. Older children are coached at a ratio of approx. 1:16.

How many places are available on Michael Vaughan Cricket?
We try and accommodate for as many children as possible however venue space may limit us, so try and book as early as possible!

How will I know which level of Michael Vaughan Cricket is appropriate for my child?
You don't have to know your child's level - children of all abilities are booked onto the Michael Vaughan Cricket programme and on the first morning of camp their level will be assessed by qualified cricket coaches. Once their level has been assessed the children will be split into ability groups and coached according to the level: beginner or intermediate, for the whole week.

Can I book Michael Vaughan Cricket with King's Camps?
Children can enjoy a full range of sports by combining Michael Vaughan Cricket with King's Camps multi-activity programmes: Kids Camp or Teen Camp. When booking both, children can have fun all day long, making even more friends and having a go at lots of sports.

Can I book extended hours with Michael Vaughan Cricket?
Children have the option of booking onto our extended hour’s program with Michael Vaughan Cricket and Michael Vaughan Cricket/King's Camps multi-activity camps combined. The advantage of booking both Michael Vaughan Cricket and King's Camps multi-activity camps is that children can attend the morning and afternoon extended hours programme.
